In Remembrance of Him

**warning: tons and tons of cute pictures to come. It might take a while for them to load**

Yesterday was a good day. We went over to a friends house for breakfast with the ABKA team (more on their visit here in a few days) and then Bria and I took a couple naps. It was heaven. We haven't had much sleep the past week just with all the happenings and visiting, but it's totally worth it! Then we had a church potluck, communion, and listened to the message that was given by Clint How to Draw Closer to God. It was amazing. It was heartfelt. It was from God himself. You could feel the energy and Spirit within the room.

One of the things that was mentioned this week is that church should be a place for celebration and remembrance and fellowship. We were discussing that in church, children should be able to play, run around, be obnoxious. They are His kids. Some of you may not agree, but when a child is laughing those deep belly laughs in the back of the church, it shouldn't be hushed, but it should be embraced.

And Bria? Did just that!

Church should also be a place of smiles and stories and getting to know people. That's exactly what it was yesterday. Eating wonderful food. Talking to wonderful people. I couldn't have asked for a better way to end the weekend.

We had communion.

It was a wonderful time of remembrance and what the Lord has done for us.

He is truly amazing.

Humble Yourself Before God
**Click the "Read More" to read about Clint's message on Sunday**

How to humble yourself before God & Draw closer to Him:

#1) The first thing we need to do in order to draw closer to God is to detach ourselves from the world and our desire of friendship towards material things. If we are able to do that, then we can take steps towards God, and he in return, will take steps towards us.

Come near to God and he will come near to you (James 4:8)

#2) The second thing that will allow us to have a closer relationship with Him is to get into the Word and not just under. There is a big difference! Although it is wonderful and important to go to church, go to bible study, listen to sermons on the t.v. or radio it is more important to get into the Word yourself. Read the bible, listen to what God is saying to you. The message from someone else is their personal view on the situation and the message will be more meaningful if He speaks to you.

Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. (Joshua 1:8)

#3) The third thing that will allow us to have a closer relationship with god is to humble yourself before him. In everything you do, make sure you do it modestly. Also, make sure you do it with all your heart and not just lip service. Lip service is going through the motions, making sure to make a check off the list of things that we should be doing as Christians. We need to me mindful and aware that doing it with our hearts and the most loving intentions are what counts and is most important to God.

“God opposes the proud
but shows favor to the humble.” (james 4:6)

After the message, instead of praying Clint sang the song that he wrote for the congregation. It was beautiful and the music that was made sounded harmonious in the church.

The best thing that I love about Clint....Is He is a man in full- a man that loves God with all his heart.

I hope you have fun on Sundays !!
